Llegando en bus, uno no espera encontrar civilización detrás de las altas montañas, cubiertas de selva y niebla. Comparado con capitales de otros departamentos, Mocoa sí es una ciudad pequeña o mejor dicho un pueblo. Pero es posible tomarse un trago en un bar o rumbear en una discoteca por la noche, pues estamos en Colombia. También hay bastantes posibilidades de comprar cualquier cosa como también de entrar a un café internet. Lo más interesante para mí como turista me parecen las tiendas de artesanía, que ofrecen aparte de lo conocido, también productos especiales de la región, o ustedes ya probaron mermelada de la fruta “araza” o “cocona”?

In the middle of nowhere? Arriving with the bus, you would not expect any civilisation after the high, foggy rainforest-covered mountains. Compared to other cities, Mocoa might be a small, unspectacular town. But there is always a possibility to have a drink in a bar or to dance in a disco – we are in Colombia. You will find Internet-cafés and a good amount of stores to buy whatever you need as well. The most interesting thing for a tourist might be the Artesanía-shops, whose offer typical Colombian hand crafts and special, regional souvenirs. Or did anyone of you ever taste jam of the Araza or Cocona fruit? 

Im Tal der Ahnungslosen? Bei der Anfahrt mit dem Bus glaubt man kaum, dass einen hinter den mit Regenwald bewachsenen und in Nebel hängenden Bergen noch eine An­sammlung von Zivilisation erwartet. Mocoa ist auch eher ein verschlafenes kleines Städt­chen, wenngleich Hauptstadt des Departements Putumayo. Ein abendlicher Drink oder ein nächtlicher Diskobesuch sind doch auch hier durchaus möglich, wir befinden uns schließlich in Kolumbien. Und ebenso verfügt die Stadt über allerhand Einkaufsmöglich­keiten, Internetcafés und alles, was ein Großstädter eben so braucht. Am spannendsten für Touristen sind wahrscheinlich die Artesanía-Geschäfte, die neben bekannten auch spe­zielle, regional typische Spezialitäten und Mitbringsel anbieten. Oder hat jemand von euch schon einmal Marmelade aus der Araza oder Cocona-Frucht probiert? 

Posada Turística Dantayaco

A media hora de Mocoa está localizada la Posada turística “Dantayaco” que toma su nombre del rio que forma las hermosas cascadas del Fin del Mundo, llamado de igual forma. “Danta” viene del animal danta (tapir) y “yaco” significa água, en el idioma de los indígenas Inga. A unos 100 metros de la posada empieza el camino hacia el sitio turístico más importante de la región, el Fin del Mundo, pero hay muchos sitios interesantes como lindos por descubrir, y a todos se llega fácil y rápidamente desde la posada.

La posada tiene una gran cantidad de cómodas habitaciones, que ofrecen a precios bajos. Toldillos no hay, porque casi no hay zancudos. Bueno, digamos, en comparación con otros sitios hay muy poquitos. Personas como yo (con “sangre dulce”) mejor llevan repelente. En el jardín grande de la casa también se pueden poner carpas. Por el día, lo más rico es relajarse en una de las hamacas; y acá tiene realmente un lugar para descansar – porque acceso al internet no hay y para tener señal de celular también es difícil. Para esto, uno tiene que irse unos minutos hacia Mocoa. Para tener tranquilidad completa, les recomiendo llevar música con audífonos, porque la posada queda en una carretera pequeña pero transitada. Así, la ubicación favorece el desplazamiento hacia los sitios turísticos, pero también aumenta un poco el ruido por los carros y camiones.

En el jardín crecen bananos como también frutas tropicales no muy comunes en otros países incluso en otras regiones del país. Con un poquito de suerte es posible observar los micos, a los cuales les gusta venir por la mañana a comer estas frutas. En la casa viven y les reciben tres amables Colombianos. Entre ellos, la ama de casa, doña Sonia, quien prepara comida típica de ingredientes frescos y naturales al gusto suyo – jugos naturales, verduras, carne, pescado incluso la feliz gallina que usted vio en la mañana, se la prepara de almuerzo, si usted así lo quiere.

You can reach the Hostel “Posada Turística Dantayaco” easily by bus, it is situated 6 km from the town Mocoa. It has its name from the river Dantayaco, which is forming the famous waterfalls of Fin del mundo. “Danta” means tapir and “Yaco” water in the language of the Inga, one of the local indigenous people. The walk to the Fin del Mundo starts right here, about 100 meters from the Hostel. Apart from that, there are a lot more of interesting and things to do and beautiful things to see around here, whose are quick and easy to reach.

The Hostel has lots of nice rooms with comfortable beds, which the owner offers for a good price. Quite surprising, there are no mosquito nets – because mosquitoes almost don't exists or bite you. Well, let's say that there is, compared to other places like that, a really small amount of mosquitoes. For people who usually get bitten a lot (with “sweet blood”, like me), it is recommended to take repellent with them. In the big garden you have the opportunity to put your tent. There are hammocks to relax during the daytime, and this is truly a good place to do so, because there is no internet-access in the hostel and the cell phone signal is difficult to catch, too. Therefore you have to take a bus ride to the city again. If you need absolute silence to relaxe, I recomend you to take some music on your mp3 player or earplugs, because the Hostel is situated right next to a small, but quiete busy street. That makes it easy to reach a lot of beautiful places but it increases the noise level as well.

Bananas and other tropical fruits from the region grow directly in the garden. And if you are lucky you can observe monkeys in the morning, sitting in the trees and eating the fruits. Three friendly Colombians are living in the Hostel giving you the best service. The charming Sonja will prepare you regional meals made out of natural ingredients, just as you like them: fresh fruit juices, vegetables, meat, fish or if you prefer you can also have a chicken right away from the own garden.

Sechs Kilometer von der Kleinstadt Mocoa entfernt befindet sich die Ferienunterkunft (Posada) „Dantayaco“. Der Name stammt von dem Fluss, der die Wasserfälle des Fin del Mundo speist. „Danta“ ist der Tapir und „Yaco“ das Wasser in der Sprache der hiesigen Indi­genen. Direkt an der Posada, nur etwa 100 m entfernt, beginnt der Wanderweg zur Haupt­attraktion der Region, dem „Fin del Mundo“. Jede Menge weitere spannende Ausflugsziele warten in der Umgebung und sind schnell und einfach zu erreichen.

 

Die Unterkunft verfügt über reichlich Zimmer mir bequemen Betten, die preisgünstig ver­mietet werden. Moskitonetze sind nicht vonnöten, denn es gibt so gut wie keine Moskitos. Na, sagen wir, vergleichsweise wenige, sehr geplagte Menschen mit „süßem Blut“ (inklusive mir) sollten sicherheitshalber ein Mückenschutzmittel im Gepäck und die Gelb­fieberimpfung im Blut haben. In dem großzügigen Garten findet sich immer ein Platz, um ein Zelt aufzuschlagen. Tagsüber kann man in einer der Hängematten entspannen, und dies ist wirklich ein Ort, um seine Seele baumeln zu lassen. Denn über Internetzugang ver­fügt die Unterkunft nicht und auch ein Handysignal ist schwer zu erhaschen. Dafür muss man sich wieder einige Busminuten Richtung Stadt bewegen. Für komplette Ruhe und Entspannung empfiehlt es sich aber doch, Ohrstöpsel oder Musik mitzunehmen, denn die Unterkunft liegt direkt an einer zwar kleinen, aber dennoch recht befahrenen Landstraße. Das erhöht zwar die Erreichbarkeit, aber doch auch den Lärmpegel. 

Im Garten wachsen Bananenstauden und andere tropische, selbst den meisten Kolumbianern völlig unbe­kannte Früchte der Region. Mit etwas Glück kann man Äffchen beobachten, die sich häufig morgens im Garten tummeln und sich die Früchte schmecken lassen. Bewohnt und bewirtet wird die Posada turística von drei freundlichen Kolumbianern. Die herzensgute Hausherrin Sonia bereitet je nach Belieben regionale Küche aus natürlichen Zutaten – frische Fruchtsäfte, Gemüse, Fleisch, Fisch und auf Wunsch auch ein glückliches Huhn di­rekt aus dem eigenen Garten.
